The Service

The service provides technical and IT support to all Department staff regarding workstations, logistics, software applications, and programmes dedicated to research, teaching, and administration.

It is also responsible for the management of the Department’s teaching and multimedia laboratories, including:

Teaching Laboratories

These laboratories support the teaching activities of the Department’s undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes, primarily for courses that include seminar-based sessions using the main applications and statistical software for quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation.

• “G. Mizzau” Laboratory – Equipped with an Interactive Multimedia Whiteboard (LIM) and a VIA system that allows the simultaneous and instant connection of all devices in the room; 18 PC workstations.

• “San Petronio Vecchio” Laboratory (Via San Petronio Vecchio) – Equipped with 20 student PC workstations and a teacher’s station with projector and screen.

“ProDiGi” Laboratory (Via Azzo Gardino 23)

A highly versatile space, designed as a fully equipped, professional environment for the production of podcasts, news, videos, and documentaries.

• Audio-video recording studio with green screen, a workstation with condenser microphone and two lavalier wireless microphones, mixer, and two remotely operated 4K cameras.

• Virtual set featuring a complete set of remotely controlled LED panels.

• Control room equipped with audio, video, and lighting mixers, workstation, and remote camera control unit.

• 4K camera, wireless microphones, and tripod available for outdoor shooting.

• Video editing and graphic workstation equipped with iMac and standard professional software.

The staff also provides support for on-demand websites of research centres, for the Department website editorial team, and assists the Procurement Office in managing requests for the purchase of technical and IT equipment and services for faculty and administrative staff.
