Teaching
Introduction to legal comparison; object, purpose and methods of comparison. Introduction to the European system of protection of Human Rights and the Convention; relationship with domestic courts: preliminary reference, direct appeal, control of conventionality and non-application of the conflicting norm. Judicial discourse: judgments and process of invention and justification. Comparison and supranational decisions: the "comparative argument" of the judge; comparative processes and techniques that can be used in supranational integration processes.
Admission requirements
The course is aimed at scholars and legal professionals (judges, lawyers, diplomatic staff and officers of both state and local administrations); experts in public, private and non-profit sectors, in the field of public and social, family, immigration and educational policies. Anyone who, in the exercise of his profession, must confront rights and culture of users, customers and partners from other countries.
