Join us for the upcoming session of the Quantitative Social Sciences Seminars (QSSS), where we spotlight transformative approaches to addressing contemporary challenges through the lens of empirical research. This session features two insightful presentations that delve into critical social and environmental issues.

PhD Candidate Pietro Lepidi will lead with his research, "Should the Green Transition be ‘Just’? Evidence from a Survey Experiment in Italy." In this presentation, Lepidi will highlight the research design of his survey experiment, which seeks to unravel how inequality concerns influence public support for climate policies and participation in climate-motivated political activities. This session offers a unique opportunity for attendees to provide valuable feedback on Lepidi’s methodology and approach before the survey experiment is conducted, making it a crucial dialogue for refining the study’s design to better capture the complex relationship between climate policy support and distributive justice perceptions.

Assistant Professor Loris Vergolini will share his findings from the study "Incentivizing Family Savings as a Way to Fight Educational Inequality: Preliminary Results from a RCT in Italy." This presentation delves into the WILL "Educare al Futuro" programme, an initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students from low-income families through savings incentives, financial education, and support services. Vergolini's research offers valuable insights into the potential of targeted financial interventions to reduce educational disparities and promote greater social equity.

QSSS provides a distinguished platform for scholars to convene, exchange insights, and explore the latest advancements in research, with the aim of cultivating a dynamic academic community in Bologna. We extend a warm invitation to join us for an engaging scholarly dialogue!
