WP8.4 analyses the social impact of advanced AI systems in different areas and on different stakeholders.
On the one hand, the project investigates existing models and especially LLMs from the perspective of their communicative competence in the interaction with the users, assessing their ability to perceive and evaluate the attitude of their interlocutors. On the other hand , it analyses the various sources and forms of bias produced and reproduced. It describes the relationship between Automated Decision-Making Systems and the reproduction of social inequalities and analyzes the changes in the medical practice driven by AI systems. The research will formulate concrete guidelines for communicatively effective use of generative AI, for effective regulatory intervention, for equitable AI systems, for awareness of social implications, for solid and representative governance.
