Starting from the theoretical and philosophical premises of deliberative democracy, where a fundamental role is played by citizens actively participating to public decisions, the seminar will focus on theoretical developments and applications of the deliberative model to divided societies, where communication and intergroup dialogue overcoming the rigidities and dynamics of ethnopolitics is a main need.
The seminar (on a remote/videoconference mode) will be held by Simona Mameli, PhD, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Unit for the Adriatic and the Western Balkans, with the participation of Prof. Jaramillo (Javeriana University, Bogotà, Colombia), Prof. Maia (Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brasil) and Prof. Lushaku (University of Prishtina, Kosovo), in video-connection from their universities.
